Nagari Koto Gadang Koto Anau Pada Masa PRRI (1958-1961)

This study examines the historical events of PRRI focusing on Nagari Koto Anau (1958-1961). This study aims to reveal how the involvement of the people of Nagari Koto Anau during the PRRI period and its consequences on social, economic and political life. The method used in this research is the historical method. The rules in historical writing are arranged in four isteps, inamely: iHeuristics (collecting sources), Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The results of the study showed that Nagari Koto Anau was used as a place of refuge. As fellow “urang awak”, the people of Koto Anau accept refugees with open arms. And the people of Koto Anau were involved in helping the PRRI struggle and the refugees in meeting needs logistical their. Community involvement certainly has consequences for people's lives. First, in the social life of the people, who are so afraid of the dangers of war that threaten, they prefer to flee to other areas and the community is also punished without being tried first. Both the economic life of the Koto Anau people during the upheaval were in a difficult condition in meeting their daily needs because of the embargo policy implemented by Soekarno. Third the political life of Nagari Koto Anau during the PRRI period was the majority of supporters of the Masyumi Party. In addition, the party that is quite influential is the PKI.
