Abstract

This article is motivated by the development of the Mandeh Tourism Area. The development of an area into a tourist area basically brings changes to the socio-economic community. Therefore, this study aims to describe the development and impact of the development of the Mandeh Tourism Area on the socio-economic community in the Mandeh tourist area. This study uses historical research methods, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography,

            The results of this study indicate that the Mandeh area from 2015 to 2020 is in stages 1-2, namely the exploration and community involvement stage, this is seen through the approach to the development of a tourist area (tourism area life cycle-TALC). Then the existence of the Mandeh Tourism Area brings positive changes to the socio-economic community. There is the growth of new types of businesses for the community, such as hotels/homestays, restaurants, food stalls, tourist transportation (Boats) and Tour and Travel. Then the new type of business also creates jobs for local people, thereby increasing the economy and increasing people's income.
